Postgraduate (Masters and PHD) Scholarships in Kenya

There has been a debate on Jobs availability in Kenya. There are so many graduates who are jobless yet there are many jobs being re-advertised in many organizations. The qualifications are missing. Why not advance?

As much as a lot of people who get to apply to outside universities for scholarships end up saying there due to better opportunities, some come back and a higher chance in getting jobs.

Question is… Are there any funding opportunities for postgraduate students in Kenya? Yes.

  1. Helb Scholarships offers 200,000 for masters students and 450,000 for PHD students for 2 and 3 years respectively. The application is from May to July every year. On the same site, one can get loans too to study one’s postgraduate studies.
  2. DAAD is also popular with scholarships for universitites in Kenya and East Africa every year.
  3. The National Research Fund a partner of Nacosti also releases money for research for Universities from the Kenyan Government.
